Activities

The CERIT-SC center, in the context of the national e-Infrastructure, focuses specifically on provisioning of computational and storage resources in real time.

The center activities are organized as follows:

Research and development in the field of flexible infrastructures – activities mainly in the computer science area related to the operations of the installed equipment,
Purchase and operation of the computational cloud – the main focus is operation of the computational clusters and support services (virtualization, scheduling, security, ...),
Building and operation of data storage – the activity provides long-term data storage as well as sufficient storage space for short and medium-term data (e.g. intermediate results of large projects), and services integrated with the computational resources,
User support – a horizontal activity taking care of the center users, in particular providing information on the current state of resources and services, monitoring resource availability, solving everyday problems of the users, joint work with application communities, and providing comprehensive feedback to the operation activities.
