One of the CERIT-SC (ICS MU) employee/student, David Strelak, has recently been awarded prestigious La Caixa INPhiNIT fellowship, which will allow him to perform the high-level research in the Centro Nacional de Biotecnología (CNB CSIC) in Madrid for up to three years.
Cerit-SC and CNB cooperate on high-performance optimization, not exclusively, of the computations necessary in cryo-electron microscopy. Over the last year, we have managed to speed up some of the crucial parts of the processing pipeline, allowing the scientist and domain experts to process the data in a more reasonable way.
INPhINIT is a new doctoral fellowship programme devoted to attracting international Early-Stage Researchers to the top Spanish research centres in the areas of Bio and Health Sciences, Physics, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
