Our team is focused on proper data management, FAIR data handling, and implementation of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) into the research processes in the Czech Republic. EOSC is a European initiative to develop an infrastructure supporting Open Science practices of research data.
We are the team of methodologists, technicians, lawyers and managers, and we use our knowledge for the research domain communities all over the Czech Republic and we test our approach towards Open Sciecne on our alma mater, Masaryk University (MU as a test-bed principle).
- Use and transfer knowledge of concepts of FAIR data and EOSC within the international and national context
- Actively participate in European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) implementation in the Czech Republic (leaders of several Czech EOSC Task Forces) and development of a portfolio of services and tools for the future National Data Infrastructure (NDI)
- Provide expertise in Persistent Identifiers (PID) handling and Data Management Plan (DMP) tools (Data Stewardship Wizard)
- Provide expertise in sensitive data handling (Sensitive Cloud)
- We are Czech National Node of OpenAIRE representatives
The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a European initiative aimed at developing an infrastructure supporting open science practices in the field of research data management.
The National Library of Technology (NTK) is the largest and oldest library of science and technology literature in the Czech Republic. Its primary function is to provide specialized information resources and services to students, teachers, and researchers in the fields of engineering and applied sciences.
The main objectives of the Association of Libraries of Czech Universities are to promote, develop and support academic libraries in the Czech Republic and to provide a platform for collaboration and partnership in various areas of interests on both national and international levels.
Our Testing Environment
Masaryk University is the second largest university and leader in the field of Open Science in the Czech Republic.
e-INFRA CZ is a unique research and development e-infrastructure in the Czech Republic. It provides capacities and resources for the transmission, storage and processing of scientific and research data.

Mgr. Ing. Jiří Marek
Open Science Manager
Jiří is an Open Science manager for CERIT-SC and Masaryk University and is responsible for development of EOSC implementation at the national level. He is also member of a working group of the Research, Development and Innovation Council to establish a national FAIR data strategy, and he manages the Open Science group in CZARMA (Czech Association of Research Managers and Administrators).
RNDr. Michal Růžička, Ph.D.
FAIR Data Specialist
Michal is a FAIR data specialist for CERIT-SC and Masaryk University, and the leader of working group core services for implementation of European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). His main research focus is on the handling of personal sensitive data.
Klára Slanařová
Open Science Policies Specialist
Klára is a specialist on the national research policy agenda, she was involved in establishing of RIS3 strategy at Ministry of Industry and Trade. Now she focuses on implementation of European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) in Czech Republic.
Mgr. Michaela Capandová
Open Science Methodologist
Michaela is an Open Science methodologist for European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). She is an ORION grant-awarded scientist with a background in biochemistry and biomedical sciences. Now she focuses on the development and implementation of EOSC at the national level.
